An Announcement and Good News

Not so gentle reminder that the opening reception for my very first solo show is this Sunday, March 25th from 4 - 6 PM at The Family Wash (though I'll be there until 8 to hang out, eat dinner, listen to great music)! Family Wash is one of the most wonderful restaurants of all time, so if you can't make it Sunday, swing by before April 29th, and you can still see my stuff.

I went in an entirely new direction with one series of watercolors. Folks seem to like it. So come and say you saw them first!

Under the "Good News" column, you can now also find my paintings at a wonderfully funky shop called Odyssey's End. It's located in the Arcade downtown, and if you don't buy a painting, you're pretty much guaranteed to pick up one of Samantha Callahan's fabulous necklaces or the tiny soaps shaped like robin's eggs.

Picture!

For the curious: here is a shot (generously posted on Flickr) of my little contribution to the Untitled Sweet 16 Show last weekend at Bellevue Mall.
Mine's nestled in there with fabulous pieces by multiple other artists including Beth Seiters and Andee Rudhoff.
You can hardly tell it's the old Disney Store!

Lovely Sweet 16

Thanks to everyone who braved the killer drive to Bellevue for the Untitled Sweet 16 show. The mall was actually a pretty cool place, and I think it's great that we brought the art to a new place.

If I tried to talk, and got pulled away, I'm sorry! If I carded you while pouring wine... well, what can I say? It's a compliment!

Thanks again!

Sweet 16!

SWEET SIXTEEN: This Friday Night!!!
----------------------------------------------------------
UNTITLED ARTISTS GROUP PRESENTS SPRING SHOW 2007 "SWEET 16"On Friday, March 16, Nashville's Untitled artists' group invites you to celebrate Untitled's 16th birthday with our Spring 2007 Show, "SWEET 16" at the MALL! This free, one-night-only art event will be held at Bellevue Mall and will feature new painting, photography, sculpture and mixed media from some of the city's most innovative visual artists.
Untitled has come a long way since its inception in 1991 and has proven to be a unique and successful venture for artists and the Nashville community. Untitled is composed of several hundred Nashville artists, including exhibiting artists and staff from Zeitgeist, Dangenart, Plowhaus, Twist Gallery, (fov) gallery and others, as well as art faculty and students from Watkins College of Art and Design, Belmont University, Vanderbilt University and MTSU. SWEET 16 is the latest in a series of successful quarterly exhibitions in non-traditional spaces.
Our "SWEET 16" will take place March 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Bellevue Mall in 3000 square feet of prime retail space. Admission is free, and the public is invited to meet and mingle with the artists and view their work while enjoying refreshments and the ultra-chill, downbeat melodies of DJ Synapse Trap. Patrons may purchase artwork by cash, check or charge and may take their pieces home with them at 10:00 that evening.
Untitled is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting artists, reaching new art audiences, and offering alternative visual arts experiences in the Nashville community. The group's meetings and shows provide opportunities for artists to connect, collaborate and learn from each other. All artists at all levels and in all media are invited to attend weekly meetings at Kazu in Cummins Station, and to participate in quarterly exhibitions.

CRAFT

Thanks to everyone who made it out to CRAFT this Sunday! What a wonderful turn out and it was amazing to meet everyone. Despite the lack of sleep and the killer time-change, it was a very successful day, I think.

Make sure to catch us next month if you couldn't make it out this time. CRAFT will be held monthly behind the Lipstick Lounge. So as to avoid Easter, the April fair will be on a different weekend. More about that later!
